Officials with the North Naples Fire Control and Rescue District, which responded to the scene, said a lint fire spread from the dryer to the washing machine in a second floor condo. No one was injured, but there was extensive smoke damage to the unit’s kitchen and laundry room.

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – A fire destroyed an 80-year-old Daytona Beach home early Tuesday morning and killed two puppies that were inside. Firefighters said they were called to the home on Seagrave Street just before 1:30am on Tuesday. They said when they arrived, there was heavy smoke pouring out the back of the two story house. The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating and told WFTV that the fire started due to a dryer in the back of the house that was not properly ventilated.

SANTA CLARITA, CA – On Thursday morning, Santa Clarita Deputies responded to a call of a house fire. The owner of the residence had just returned home from dropping her children off at school to find her clothes dryer on fire in an upstairs room. Deputies Eagar and Reantaso responded to the scene. Both took fire extinguishers from their vehicles and made their way upstairs to find the second floor covered in thick smoke. Crawling on their hands and knees, they located the dryer and were able to put enough chemical extinguisher on it and the surrounding area to contain the fire until Fire Department personnel arrived to fully extinguish the flames. Captain Goulet from L.A. Co. Engine Co. #124 commended the deputies for their quick response and credited them with saving the house which he said most likely would have been fully engulfed if not for their actions.
